Its been awhile since posting. So much learnt. Thanks so much for your comments I appreciate them.
Today I’d like to talk about Buttons. Think of buttons as bullseyes all over you. Stick with me here.
If you have buttons that say “I’m sensitive about my hometown”. You will probably encounter more sledging about your home town than anybody else. Why is that? Because you have so many emotions tied to “defending your home town” that you attract people to kindly help you practice that.
Buttons when pressed usually result in the following reactions:
1. Steam coming out of ears,
2. Yelling,
3. Desire to defend.
3. Writing people off no matter how ridiculous the button they’ve pressed.
4. Sometimes can result in violence. (Ever seen 2 drunk guys at a bar fighting over a woman? Their buttons are probably “other men cannot look or talk to my girl”)
Think about the last time you got angry at someone over something they said. Think about it. Was what they said or did really so terrible? Thinking everyone has the same beliefs or values as you without communicating those expectations to others really leaves you wide open for lots and lots of button pressing.
So how did you get these buttons in the first place?
Buttons are usually in response to something in your past. It could have been something where you felt you were in danger or people you look up to teachers, parents etc have continually told you something over and over, you then take that on as “case”. Case is like an instruction book for a certain kind of circumstance usually formed over a specific incident or from continually being subjected to something.
So how do you get rid of buttons? No one wants to intentionally be a hot head or have people irritate them.
Write a list of the things that push your buttons. Be honest. The best a most fun way for you to get rid of a button is to be “ball baited” about it. This means for example if there’s a word that you can’t stand. Get your friend to sit there and repeat it to you until you have no emotional response to it.
If you aren’t comfortable with the potential reaction you could make towards said friend ask yourself “is this really me or case?” If so where could it have stemmed from? Is it helping you? Is it achieving anything constructive? Chances are the answer would be “no”. So let it go.
Clearing on it can definately help. Ho pono pono is the best way I’ve found. I’ll be putting a page up soon for more detail but it’s a mystic Hawaiian tradition of clearing issues away by saying the four most powerful sets of words we have “I love you, please forgive me, thank you, I’m sorry” You can either say it to the person or say it in you mind. It definately helps with drivers cutting you off. Say it to yourself repeatedly whenever you feel yourself getting angry about a situation or frustrated. It clears the energy over your issue from cranky to a place of gratitude and forgiveness. You know by now how it works. You put out crankyness and you get it back.
Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it. If you’re still cranky over a situation you haven’t repeated the Ho pono pono phrase to yourself enough..
Buttons are not in fashion this season so it’s time to get rid of them. They just don’t suit you!

Great IPhone Apps
July 8th, 2009
What can I say? I love gadgets! I got a new IPhone and have been looking for the “holy grail” of self help apps.
I’ve found a few but I’m sure there are more out there.
1. The Gratitude Journal $1.19
This app is a great habit to start if you don’t already do this. At the end of each day you get to give it a star rating and write down what you are grateful for. I’ve found it great because you can add pictures to help remember the day. It also has password protection.
2. Live Happy Free Trial
This is a free app. It’s based on scientific research that says doing the exercises in this app contribute to basically being happy. It has a gratitude Diary built in but it’s not geared up for daily entries. I think it’s important to do daily because invariably there will be what you’d consider a “crappy day” and if you can turn it around through being grateful for the things that were positive this will reduce the power of the crap. It has exercises like doing good deeds for strangers, calling people or catching up with people you should more often. There’s a place to write your goals, ideal future. It’s got it all. Also password protected.
This one is more than a bunch of nature sounds. It has a timer and different binaural beats so you can use it for energising, sleeping, meditating or even studying which is what I’m going to be using it for. Putting your brainwaves in the right state for learning have never sounded better.
I’ve also tried The Habit Factor but think Live Happy kind of does all this in the one app. A New Earth by Eckart Tole is just quotes from his book. Nothing really exciting there. I also downloaded Vision builder but without a password on it I’m not willing to get started.
If you know any great IPhone apps I haven’t mentioned please leave a comment or contact me through the contact form at Http://www.amindbodyandspirit.com

Counter intentions… are they holding you back?
July 8th, 2009
Well it’s been awhile and it took some feedback to get me logged back in. Shout out to Mr Yeoman in Sth Africa. You gave me the kick I needed.
I’ve been listening to a fantastic audio course by Joe Vitale called “The Missing Secret”. He appeared in The Secret and has had a lot more light to shed on The Law of Attraction.
So you’ve got the picture of the car up on your wall that you want. You look at it daily but you still don’t have it. Chances are you’ll get a lot out of this course. What you’re not doing is mimicing the feeling of owning that car like you already own it, plus you need to take action on any goal. Then you might just have a counter intention or two.
Counter intentions, i’ll give you the pefect example I’m currently witnessing. My friend is looking to buy a house. He goes to open for inspections and has looked at over 60 houses. His actions are moving in the right direction but his thoughts are counter intentional. He tells me “it’s so hard buying a house by yourself” (I’m the wrong person to go to because I’ve done it many times) and he’d “rather buy a place with someone” These counter intentions mean he will be stuck on a never ending search because subconsciously he really doesn’t want to buy a house on his own. If he cleared these counter intentions (there are some quick and easy ways to do this) then he would probably find the house of his dreams, if only his budget and perfectionistic expectations matched up.
Thoughts in Pictures NLP
February 1st, 2009
If I ask you what you had for breakfast this morning or where you went on your last holiday how can you recall this information. Most people will say “Because I remember” my question to you is how do you remember? When I ask people this question I will normally get the same response “Well I can see it” Isn’t that interesting even though the holiday may have been three months ago people can close their eyes and they can see themselves walking on the beach or doing the normal crazy things people tend to do while away.
There are many ways of the person seeing the picture, let’s do a little experiment to show you. First close your eyes (not yet) and take a deep breath in and see yourself doing something you love it can be anything, next open your eyes stand up then sit back down, close your eyes and imagine yourself doing something you really don’t like doing. Now my experience tells me that they were some big differences in the pictures. For example the color may have been different, most people I work with say the one they like is in color while the other is in black and white, the brightness, size, angle, focus and distance of picture will differ from the activity you liked doing to the one you didn’t like doing.
Where am I going with this? These days it seems you can’t go into an office or a public gathering without somebody telling you how stressed they are. My belief is there is no stress in the world yes I agree there are people who are so called “stressing” themselves out but there is no stress in the world, the world is exactly how it should be. These so called stressed people are just making bad pictures of everything that can go wrong in a particular situation then they use words to them self on why the situation just won’t work which in turns creates worse pictures. When I talk to these people about the situation it’s amazing what happens when you can change a few of the sub modalities of the picture they have in their head.
Now, we all live in the real world so I would like to give you a real world experience I had a few weeks ago.
I was at a pub with my brother and some of our close friends, about twenty meters away there were three girls playing pool, one of my friends wanted to go and say hello but for some reason couldn’t move of his chair. Now what pictures do you think he was making in his head? Correct pictures of the girls not talking to him or worse telling him to go away and having to come back to a table of guys laughing at him as only real friend can do. I took him aside and we spoke about the pictures he had in his head. After a quick session and changing some of the negative pictures he was seeing into positive ones he was well on his way.
The next time something comes up that used to “stress” you, close your eyes and take a deep breath. Make the picture of you successfully delivering your sales pitch, talking to that stranger on the train you see every morning, handing your report in on time whatever it is for you think in positive pictures. See yourself, feel the feelings of success hear what’s going on around you at the time experience it before it happens. These are your thoughts in your head so if you are thinking in pictures anyway why not make them positive ones!

Holosync Meditation
December 23rd, 2008
What is Holosync? It”s a meditation audio course. There are 12 levels. You can become an “Inner circle” member for a bargin price of $1800 to $2,000. The first basic level is $179 US. After the 1st level you get to customise your levels by ringing up and reading out a whole lot of affirmations you”ve chosen over the phone. It puts your voice on a loop and embeds it into the audio. You can”t hear your voice but apparently it”s in there.
What is Holosync supposed to do? Because it puts a different frequency in your left to your right ear the brain has to create neuron pathways between both hemispheres to balance the frequency. This leads to more “whole brain” thinking.
I figured after years of going to the gym it was time that I exercised my brain. I saw an ad in the paper to “Meditate Deeper than a Monk” and got the sample. I”ve been meditating with Holosync and and off for over 6 years and I”m on level 5. Each level Bill says should take around 6 months to complete. Each level increases the depth of your meditation. i”d be on a higher level by now but my request for the next level didn”t get a response and the last few levels have taken a year to arrive.
So am I any different because of the meditation? I know things don”t get to me much anymore. Stress? Well a lot less than I used to. I”d say stress is down 80% if I had to quantify it.
Do I think Holosync is overpriced? Yes. Would I buy it again if I knew then what I know is out there now? No.
I”ve just started listening to new meditation tracks which are a lot cheaper. 3 Levels are $87! And you can buy the levels individually. The first time I listened to the second level it was amazing! With all the meditation audio”s I have I really didn”t think there”d be much out there that would affect me. I”m going to keep listening daily for a few weeks to make sure it”s as good as I think it is before i let you know about it. Stay tuned in the New year for the result.
Jon Gordon – The Energy Bus
December 12th, 2008
I’ve recently read a book called “The Energy Bus” by Jon Gordon
If individuals and companies employed the theories of “The Energy Bus” people all over the world would be jumping out of bed in the morning. Jon talks about the power of positive thinking and action. He puts it in an easy to read and fun book. Perfect for people who haven’t read a book in years.
Here’s a video of Jon

Intuitive moments
December 6th, 2008
This has happened to me a few times mainly when my business card is about to be pulled out of a business function raffle. The first time as they were about to draw the prize I thought “oh no, I’m going to have to get up on that stage in front of all those people!”, A bottle of Moet was worth the uncomfortable feeling of the whole room looking at me as I walked up on stage. The next time I actually told the drawer of the prize to pick my card out (not that he was looking when he did) I knew that he would. Maybe that was just the powers of suggestion. It’s very cool when it does happen.
Horse racing.. Quite a few times I’ve known which horse is going to win. A few years ago (this is only a once a year event) a guy whom considered himself quite the punter had been giving me dud tips all day. Finally I’d had enough and took the form guide from him and told him I’d give him the winning tip on the next race. I told him, he placed the smallest bet on it he’d made all day.. Guess what. It won.
This year again I was with another “expert” punter. After 2 bad tips from him, I took the 3rd one to the auto betting machine knowing it wasn’t going to get anywhere. I looked at the machine and one horse caught my eye. I bet on it (only $5) and of course it won. Did I get into trouble for not passing on that info! On another race I had a friend convinced no 18 was the winner. I told him it wasn’t even going to place and that no 1 was going to win. He ignored me and I won $228! Then the next race he asked me what was going to win.. My intuition was shot. It’s almost when I try and force it, it runs and hides.
I think the best advice I can give you is remember that feeling of “knowing” vs trying to know. I’m still learning.
The gambling thing. If next year I win big (over $300) I plan to donate the money to charity so there’s no universal karma from winning money through intution. Although that raises an interesting question regarding money vs. spirituality that i’ll cover shortly.

The road to intuition
December 4th, 2008
The Road to Intuition
Have you had that experience when all of a sudden you just had this huge hunch that something is about to happen, and to your surprise, that intuition was eventually translated to reality?
When you feel strongly about something without logical basis to it, that’s called intuition. It comes in three impressions: clairvoyance or “the third eye”, sensing clearly and feeling through listening.
Sensing clearly is basically what we refer to as “hunch” or “gut feel.” This is the time when you are overwhelmed with a feeling and you can’t explain it and all you can say is “I just know.”
Why the need to develop intuition, you ask? Why not let your emotional and psychological state as it is? First and foremost, intuition promotes good communication. It makes you more sensitive to the people around you; it often keeps you from hurting those you love because you are intuitive enough to understand them. Intuition also makes you far more creative than ever. Intuition means releasing more creative juices for any means of expression. Lastly, intuition has a healing power. This healing power is not in the physical sense, but in delving deep into your soul to eradicate some negative energy buried in it.
With that being said, are you ready to develop your intuition? Here are some ways to unlock this gift:
1. Hypnosis
Oh yes, get yourself hypnotized. Hypnosis is not limited to watching a pendulum move back and forth. Perform self-hypnosis or you can avail of hypnotic programs that can strengthen your intuition.
2. Meditation
Meditating means finding peace in yourself. If your mind and heart are cluttered with too many baggage and hurt, you wouldn’t be able to quiet down that part of you that could eventually initiate intuition. There are so many ways to meditate: take a yoga class, or just simply practice some breathing that could bring you straight to Zen.
3. Think positive!
A worry-free, fear-free state could do so much to improve your intuitive ability. By staying positive, you attract good energy that would be able to easily recognize imminent feelings and events.
4. Just let go.
What does this mean? If you are on the brink of making a huge decision, let go of all the inhibitions and head to a quiet place where you could find out where the letting go has brought you. Sometimes you just have to listen to the voice within you, and that voice wouldn’t come out unless you let go.
5. Never expect.
After letting go of the inhibitions and all those things that stop you from thinking and feeling clearly, never expect for an answer right away. Never expect that the “hunch” would fall on your lap immediately. Give it a little time then you’d just get surprised that — wham! — now you have your answer.
6. Believe in your first impressions.
When you see someone for the first time and think that he is a bit too arrogant for your taste, chances are that impression actually holds true. Most of the time, first impressions are brought by intuition.
7. Stay happy!
See? All you need to be intuitive is to stay happy! Happiness attracts immense power and such power includes intuition. In tapping your intuition, your motivation must be happiness and contentment. Given that premise, intuition will fall to you easily.
Intuition is helpful, because sometimes it leads you to something that cannot be achieved otherwise. A lot of lives have been saved by intuition alone. Decisions are easier done if armed by this gift. Develop intuition now and reap benefits you have never imagined.
Rules for being Human
December 2nd, 2008
I was given this awhile ago. I’m not sure who the Author was but it’s a great way to put things into perspective.
Rules for being Human
1. You will receive a body. You may like or hate it, but it will be yours for the entire period this time around.
2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called life. Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant and stupid.
3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial and error experimentation. The “failed” experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiment that ultimately “works”.
4. A lesson is repeated until it is learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can then go onto the next lesson.
5. Learning lessons does not end. There is no part of life that does not contain it’s lessons. If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.
6. “there” is no better than “here”. When your “there” has become a “here”, you will simply obtain another “there” that will, again, look better than “here”.
7. Others are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.
8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.
9. Your answers lie inside you. the answers to life’s questions lie inside you. All you need to do is look, listen and trust.
10. You will forget all of this.
